This Cookie Policy explains how DiffSight, owned and operated by Madhusudan (“we”, “us” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies on https://diffsight.com and https://www.diffsight.com (the “Website”). Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let the website remember information about your visit.

We also use scripts and tags, which load services such as analytics and advertising. In this policy, “cookies” covers both.

There are two kinds of cookies:

  • First-party cookies are set by DiffSight.
  • Third-party cookies are set by other companies, such as Google and Cloudflare.

Cookies also differ in how long they last:

  • Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.

Your compared content is never stored in cookies or sent to us. DiffSight’s comparison tool works entirely inside your browser.

2. Your consent

When you first visit, a cookie banner asks you to choose. You can Accept all, Reject all or Choose individually by category: Strictly necessary, Preferences, Analytics and Marketing.

Strictly necessary cookies are always active, because the Website cannot work safely without them.

Preferences, Analytics and Marketing cookies are set only after you allow them. Until you choose, they are not used. Simply continuing to browse is not treated as consent.

Your choice is saved in a cookie called cookie_consent on your device for 12 months. If you later switch a category off, we delete that category’s cookies from your browser.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using Cookie settings (the link in the footer or the cookie icon), available on every page.

3. Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary: These keep the Website secure and working. They maintain your session, protect against bots and attacks, protect our contact form and remember your cookie choices. They cannot be switched off in our cookie banner.

Preferences: These remember settings you choose, such as light or dark theme.

Analytics: These help us understand how visitors use the Website so we can improve it (Google Analytics). Google Tag Manager and Google’s analytics tags are not loaded, and these cookies are not set, unless you allow this category.

Marketing: These deliver and measure the ads that keep DiffSight free. Where you consent, they also personalise ads based on your interests (Google AdSense).

Analytics and Marketing cookies appear only if you allow those categories. We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics. Google Tag Manager itself does not set cookies to track you, and it is loaded only after you allow Analytics or Marketing. We pass your choices to it (Google Consent Mode). If you switch Analytics off, our tags stop sending data and we delete the _ga cookies from your browser.

The Marketing cookie names and lifetimes are set by Google and can change. If you switch Marketing off, we remove the ones listed here from your browser.

Third-party providers may change the names and lifetimes of their cookies. We review this table regularly; it was last reviewed on 9 October 2026. For current details, see:

  • Google: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies
  • Cloudflare: https://developers.cloudflare.com/fundamentals/reference/policies-compliances/cloudflare-cookies/

5. Third-party cookies and advertising

Google and other certified ad vendors may use cookies to show you ads based on your previous visits to this Website and to other websites. You can control this as follows:

  • Turn off personalised ads from Google in My Ad Center: https://myadcenter.google.com
  • Opt out of personalised ads from participating vendors: https://www.aboutads.info/choices or https://www.youronlinechoices.eu
  • Opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

To learn how Google uses data from websites that use its services, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

6. Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies. Each browser’s help pages explain how:

  • Google Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
  • Mozilla Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox
  • Apple Safari: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471/mac
  • Microsoft Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406-40ac-c3b8-57b9-2a946a29ae09

If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Website may not work. For example, the contact form or security checks may fail.

7. Privacy signals

Where required by applicable law, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of Marketing cookies used for targeted advertising.

8. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this policy when we change the services we use or when the law changes. We will update the “Last updated” date above. Where required, we will ask for your consent again.
